my dad crafts his pants; crafting with forest-by-products.

“a special fathers day edition.”

Rome was not built in a day and the same goes for our front and back yard. it was built in the span of a month. not Rome, but our yard. i don’t know how long it took to build Rome, if i were a guessing woman i would say 3 months minimum.

if i were Rome i would have had my dad help with the landscaping.

i don’t need to tell you why, instead i just need to post some pictures.

you might be asking yourself, “destiny, is landscaping really a craft project?”

and my response would be, “it is.”

what is the definition of a craft project?

i don’t know about webster but i think it is something you create with your hands. which is what my dad did, and let me tell you there was way more sweat involved with this craft project then when i made that computer cord cozy.

even though it is a completely different medium than what i do, i’d like to think i got my crafting ability from my dad too….he was welding metal long before i could even say the word “torch.”

so this one if for you dad, thank you for all the hard work with this craft project of yours.

and a shout out to all the fathers today(although i can’t be sure of how many dads are reading my blog these days).

this project comes with ALOT of pictures due to the before and after. enjoy.

anchor shirt.

i have been putting this post off for months and not because i don’t like it or i am not proud of it.

i think its because i don’t know what to say about it.

i will keep it simple:

i like anchors

i had a shirt that had a stain on it and  i wanted to cover it up.

i was still in a stencil making phase after my tablecloth.

and i was having a craft night with a friend so i needed something to do.

and i usually am excited to figure out the title for all my posts because i think it sets the tone….but anchor shirt? really?

thats too obvious.

i’m better than that.

what would you have done?

a mason jar i can hug.

i have been going crazy with making pillows lately.

and i have already been crazy about mason jars.

so putting the 2 together is like peanut butter and jelly.

it’s like the S.A.T questions….

peanut butter and jelly is to mason jars and___________ (pillows)

and it turns out i am not even that good at making pillows. i can do the 3 sides just fine but when it comes to the part where you have to close it up i just can’t do it.

from the pictures you can’t tell(or maybe you can) but up close you can see where i went wrong.

at the end of the day it’s still a pillow with a mason jar on it.

the mason jar was made from a homemade stamp. so if you ever need a stamp of a 12 inch by 6 inch mason jar i got it for you.
