what we are eating this week:

first off, thank you stephanie for giving me this window pane, i wouldn’t have made this craft project if it wasn’t for you.

because of this craft project we have a new rule in our house. avery made this one up.

the rule is, if you put a new hole in the wall, the hanging object needs to stay up there for 2 years.

that is a huge commitment for a piece of art work.

but we made a gentlemen’s agreement, and i will stick with that agreement until i find something new to put up there:)

so back to the craft that will be up for 2 whole years.

it’s a chalkboard that i will use to display our meals for the upcoming week.

this will inspire me to create different meals each week so i have to change up the chalkboard, hopefully.

rufus makes a great model sometimes.

my favorite part of this project are the arbitrary spoon knobs at the bottom.

oops i did it again!

i bet a bunch of you clicked on this thinking that i meant i made a mistake…..like britney spears did.

and you just wanted to see me fail.

i see how my title would allude to that.

but what i meant was oops i did another craft project that i had made before!

i loved how my striped tote bag turned out the first time…and i wanted to make one for my friend paige’s birthday. her birthday was friday. happy birthday paige!

i like this one better actually because i used two different colors.

craft party idea.

my friend betsie showed me this craft project she was doing and i fell in love.

it really is the simplest of crafts.

here are the steps:

1. buy a wooden or plastic letter that you want to have for this project…i chose “M”

2. get a hot glue gun and a bunch of wine corks.

3. start gluing them one by one.

this is the greatest part….it is such a fun and simple project i think it would be the best craft to do for a “craft party”

so portland friends of mine be warned,

this is a pre-invitation that i will have a craft party one day this fiscal year and this is the project we will be doing.

so get excited.

….and don’t worry i WILL lock up rufus when i have the party….her and hot glue guns are a recipe for disaster.

this is not a craft project.

yes, i am mixing things up a bit.

this post isn’t about anything i crafted.

it is about avery and i hanging out together on a fall weekend.

i don’t know if this will be a regular occurrence for my blog, but we got a new camera and we did fun things this weekend so i am posting about it.(we got a little camera happy)

our new favorite thing to do is go to a neighborhood in portland and do a progressive dinner.

portland just has too many places to eat to only go one place every time you go out.

so we went to 3 places on mississippi: bar bar, little big burger, and ruby jewels

the total for us to eat like kings and queens was only $30.50….not bad for a date niiieeeeeeeeeeght.

first stop: bar bar, where we had drinks and split a burger and fries….which both their fries and burger were amazing(mom you would love these fries)

burger 5.5

fries 2.5

drinks 6

total 15

then we walked 60 steps to our next destination.

sidenote: there is a store on mississippi that only sells light bulbs.

and check out this great way to use industrial sized spools.

second stop: little big burger, we each got our own burger….when i asked the lady if the burgers were little or big she said both, and  her statement was correct, they are these little burgers that are big. don’t believe me? go to one and see for yourself. tell them destiny sent you.(they will have no idea who i am)

cheeseburger x 2  7.5

total 7.5

sidenote: their ketchup/catsup is made right here in portland and they are a little obsessive compulsive on displaying their drinks.

then we walked 29 steps to our last destination.

third stop: ruby jewels, here we got an ice cream sandwich made to order and we got to watch our waffle cone getting freshly made right in front of our faces…when the lady asked if we were paying together averys response was…”for the rest of our lives”

you can’t make this stuff up…the lady and i shared a glance and i apologized for averys cheeziness.

sidenote: fridays is free sprinkles day.

ice cream sandwich 4

waffle cone 4

total 8

then the fun continues on saturday at the farmers market.

sidenote: rolling a bunch of peppers in a metal crate smells AMAZING.

our fall shhhhedule.

it has been a busy summer for me.

sooo busy that i didn’t get to as many crafts as i would have liked.

which is why i am bringing you an oldy but a goody.

i made this when avery and i first got married because i thought since there would be 2 of us now we should know what is going on with each other ALL of the time.

our schedule has become pretty routine over the past 2 years that i really only need to change it every term(i speak in terms because both avery and i are still dealing with school type schedules for various reasons)

so i guess this is what our fall term schedule will look like:

and the most important night:

the craft itself is easy:

1.get a window pane

2. get chalkboard paint

3. paint it

4. buy chalk

5. write down your schedule
